Five divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series (BSS) for three-year-old pacing fillies highlighted the 15-race card on Friday (June 3) at Eldorado Scioto Downs. All five race winners took new lifetime marks on a nearly perfect early summer evening in each $17,500 division.

The first three divisional winners were all sired by Downbytheseaside. Allnight Micki (Aaron Merriman/Tim Twaddle) started the evening off in fast fashion winning the first division of the BSS in 1:51.1. Mrs Teachey (Tony Hall) left from post five to lead at the opening quarter of :26.1 but Allnight Micki popped the pocket to take over and lead through the :54.3 half and 1:22.1 three-quarters. She won by one and a half lengths over Sleepwithoneyeopen (Tyler Smith).

Bowery (Brett Miller/Virgil Morgan, Jr.) took the second division in 1:53.2. After getting away eighth and last Miller moved Bowery around the last turn and followed a four-wide move to power by the field, winning by one and a quarter lengths over Fear Our Fayth (Mitchell Cushing).

Chris Page and Ron Burke teamed up to win the third and fifth BSS divisions. Catamaran won the third division in 1:52.3 after getting the perfect two hole trip behind race favourite, second place finisher, When You Kiss Me (Smith).

Spitting Image, a daughter of Yankee Cruiser, took the last division in 1:52.4 for Burke and Page, leading the entire mile to win by one and a quarter lengths over Love Me Hill (Miller).

Fear The Queen (Smith/Kelly O’Donnell) won the fourth division in 1:52.3. The Fear The Dragon filly got away third and after the quarter took the lead and never looked back. She Means Business (Kayne Kauffman) was just a half length back to finish second.

Live harness racing continues Saturday with the second leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies; each division, with six entries each, go for $55,000. Post time for each live racing day at Scioto Downs is 3:15 p.m.
