The Nevada Standardbred Association Inc. (NVSA) recently added Ted Bookstaver to its Board of Directors.
Bookstaver is a standardbred owner and breeder who claimed his first horse at the Meadowlands in 1992 and has been active ever since. In 1994 he earned his provisional driver’s license and drove at Monticello Raceway, Pocono Downs and Goshen Historic Track. Since his driving days, he continued owning horses and has also spent over 20 years in the entertainment industry specializing in the international distribution and monetization of produced and formatted television content. Bookstaver holds an MBA in finance from Pepperdine University.
Based in Los Angeles, Bookstaver has been very valuable for his work on the NVSA’s racing and grant proposals, aided by a strong understanding of the industry, including breeding, as well as a wealth of active knowledge. Additionally, his input on Equine Sciences has been valuable for advancing the resurgence of Equine Education initiatives in the State of Nevada.
The NVSA, a Nevada not-for-profit corporation formed in Nov. 2018, promotes and supports harness racing, Standardbred breeding and development programs, as well as Equine Education in Nevada. The NVSA also assists racetrack start-ups and represents members in negotiations.
The NVSA recommends rule changes and regulations and cooperates with other Standardbred Associations. NVSA Board Members maintain fiduciary responsibilities and are responsible for advancing the mission of the organization.
