Art Stafford and Art Stafford, Jr.’s Blazing Bobby Sox notched his third consecutive win Monday at Harrington Raceway in 1:53.3 in the featured $17,500 Open Pace.
The seven-year-old Panderosa gelding and driver Art Stafford, Jr. led a fierce first over charge in which he cleared pacesetter Little Ben and held off all comers to the wire. Kid Pk was second, while Machamillion N finished third.
It was the 27th career win for Blazing Bobby Sox, who is trained by co-owner/driver Art Stafford Jr. He paid $6.40 to win.
Russell Foster, Ross Wolfenden, Victor Kirby and Tony Morgan each had driving doubles on the program.
Tuesday marks the launch of sports betting in Delaware with the three casinos in-state expected to start taking bets at 1:30 p.m. Delaware is the first state outside of Nevada expected to roll out full-scale sports betting following the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act on May 14. Sports wagering at start-up will include single-game action on baseball, basketball, hockey, auto racing and golf.
