Standout pacing mare See You At Peelers has been retired to the breeding shed following a multiple-award winning harness racing career
which saw her win 26 of 31 races and earn more than $1.5 million in purses.
Trainer Jimmy Takter told Tioga Downs' race office that the Bettors Delight-West Side Glory mare was bred last week. In an update to the original story, Trot Insider confirmed with officials at Hanover Shoe Farms that the stallion was pacing superstar Somebeachsomewhere.
See You At Peelers established a fan following with her fantastic 22-race win streak at the start of her career and graced the pages of Sports Illustrated and The New York Times, however, she suffered from heart issues towards the end of her 2011 campaign. See You At Peelers earned divisional year-end honours in the U.S. at two and three and was nominated for an O'Brien Award in Canada as a sophomore. She returned to the track in 2012 to win four legs of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series before fading to seventh in the final and again in a Mares Open event in her last start on May 18.
See You At Peelers is owned by Takter's wife Christina, who also bred the mare, along with John and Jim Fielding of Toronto.
