They may be a loving husband and wife team off the track, but once riders Gary and Vicky Baze get a leg up and are in the irons at Assiniboia Downs, the 'hate' aspect of the relationship tends to be on display

“It’s the same with all the riders in the room,” Vicky was quoted as saying in an article on winnipegsun.com. “There’s a friendly camaraderie in the jock’s room, but when you’re on the racetrack, it’s all business. It’s serious. You want to win and you want to do the best job you can for the owner’s you are riding for.”
Vicky currently sits atop the standings with 15 wins, while Gary is currently close behind with 12.
“We get paid to win. You just try to get the job done and get there first,” Gary was quoted as saying. “Everybody is trying to get the same result.”
