New Hampshire Slots Clears Senate

According to an article on eagletribune.com, the New Hampshire Senate yesterday approved a bill which would allow up to 15,000 slot machines at six

locations around the state. Rockingham Park is would be included in the mix.

Senator Lou D'Allesandro noted that although the news is positive, there is still a long road to travel before the slots expansion becomes a reality.

"We're taking this by baby steps," he said. "First, the Finance Committee, then the senate, now we'll move on to the house."

The article states that it's not a sure bet that expanded gambling will pass the legislature — or the governor's desk — this year.

Casino operator Millennium Gaming has publicly stated that it is willing to go forward with a $450 million renovation to Rockingham Park if slot legislation is approved.
