Roll Em has been knocking on the door and will look to finally kick it down in the top event at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway during the Canada Day program on Tuesday, July 1.
The Prince County oval starts the action at 1 p.m. (ADT), with a jam packed 15-dash card.
The race 14 feature carries a $4,300 purse with Marc Campbell steering Roll Em from post six in the featured field. Landon Campbell trains the seven-year-old Time To Roll gelding for Prince Edward Island owners Savage Stable, Brent Campbell and Ryan MacLeod. The 38-time winner has been racing the Preferred level at Red Shores Charlottetown so far this season with a second and a pair of fourths from four tries.
Rollwithhottytoddy, to be driven by Myles Heffernan Sr., gets rail control from the Trevor Hicken barn as the 2024 Governor’s Plate runner-up puts the hopples back on for Tuesday’s event after racing free-legged the first part of the season.
Brookdale Johnny (Paul Langille) last raced in the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series finishing third at Charlottetown while race timed in 1:52.3. The Phil Sizer trainee has post three on Tuesday.
Also in the field are Braxtons Boy (Brady Sweet), One Eight Hundred (Mitchell Downey), Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy), Howmac Charmer (Corey MacPherson) and Mr Kelly (Adam Merner).
The "Backstretch Beat" goes with Roll Em to win: “Roll Em was a force last season and has started to regain that top form in recent outings. Drops from Invitational company into this event and that should be a recipe to go right down the highway to the winner’s circle.”
Race 10 carries a $3,650 purse as Little Leroy looks for his third straight after winning the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Gold division his last start in a career best 1:52.2. Ken Murphy will drive the four-year-old Source Of Pride gelding for trainer Joe Baxter from post three as he faces off with seven foes, including Jack Boswall (Marc Campbell) and Plain Jane (Brodie MacPhee).
Race three is the Canada Day Pace for $3,000. Sensational Gal is the morning line choice from post seven with Norris Rogers in the race bike for trainer Nicholas Oakes. The four-year-old daughter of Rollwithitharry has seven opponents for her Tuesday bout.
