Brookdale Johnny put his back class on full display in the Tuesday, June 3 top class at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as he fought his way to victory.
The evening's 13-dash presentation was headlined by the $3,650 top class in Race 12 where Brookdale Johnny ($2.20) and driver Paul Langille sat last and came calling first-over on pacesetter Plain Jane (Corey MacPherson) before digging in late to win by half a length in 1:55.3. Braxtons Boy (Brady Sweet) nabbed second ahead of a third-place Plain Jane. Phil Sizer trains the winning five-year-old gelded son of Rockin In Heaven-Brookdale Gia for Amherst, N.S. owners Douglas Polley Sr. and Jr.
Kyle Williams snagged a training double on the program from his Tyne Valley operation, scoring with Redland Misspretty ($5) for driver Langille in race 10 in 1:56.1 and Howmac Charmer ($18) in line to MacPherson in a 1:55.4 neck decision in race nine.
George Rennison also sent out a pair of winners on the card, as newcomer Going Yard ($3.30) won with MacPherson in the bike in race 11 in 1:56.4 and Privilege ($6.80) was an open-length winner in the finale in 1:58.1 for pilot David Dowling.
Privilege was part of a driving triple for Dowling, who also steered Dont Come Lookin ($4.80) to a maiden breaking win in race seven for trainer Chris Davies in 1:59.4 and Isle Bea Wickedwon ($3.10) to win the sixth for trainer Ron Matheson in 1:57.2.
