Hippodrome 3R's leading trainer Marc-Andre Simoneau and driver Pascal Berube dominated the eight-race matinee on Sunday, June 29.

The pair teamed up to sweep the afternoon's last three races, starting when six-year-old pacing gelding Party Vibes ($5.30) held off the favoured Vino Louie by a half-length in 1:58.3. Next up, five-year-old pacing mare Summer Lovin ($3) romped to an 8-1/4-length victory to take the day's $4,000 top class in 1:57.1 then eight-year-old pacing gelding Mickeymaksomespeed ($3.90) closed out the card with a wire-to-wire win in 1:57.2. Summer Lovin has now won four of her last five starts this month since joining the Simoneau stable while Party Vibes and Mickeymaksomespeed each picked up their first wins of the season.

The successful Simoneau starters completed a five-win day at 3R for Berube, who also drove the fastest winner on the card, the David Pilon stable's Uncontrollable ($2.20), in 1:56.4 by 6-1/2 lengths over a Simoneau-trained longshot Joltin Joe, driven by Antoine Desrochers. Berube's other win was courtesy of The Wicked One ($7) from the barn of Charles Gaudreault.

Simoneau leads all trainers at the 2025 meet with 17 victories while Berube sits atop the driver standings with 38 wins. Both horsement lead by more than double the wins of their closest competitors.
