Trainer Kyle Fellows and owner Hutt Racing Stable of Malvern, Pa. teamed up for a natural hat trick on Sunday, June 29 at Georgian Downs with all three starters from the combination finding the winner’s circle.

Their first win came as freshman Bettors Delight-Spring Break colt Cabo San Lucas kicked off his career with a 1:57.1 victory in the second race. Damian MacLellan steered the $41,667 Harrisburg yearling purchase who passed three horses down the lane to win by a head.

Wicked Express made it a double for Fellows and Hutt Racing as the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots-contending gelding wired his rivals in 1:53.1, winning the conditioned event by 1-1/2 lengths. The sophomore son of McWicked-Shes A Pansation, driven by Phil Hudon, is now two-for-12 lifetime.

The team made it a triple in the fourth race as the three-year-old McWicked-Bunkhouse Babe gelding Bunkhouse Boss broke his maiden in his 18th try with a 2-1/4-length victory in 1:56.3 with Hudon in the sulky.

Fellows won with three of four starters (two of which were in the same race) on the nine-race card to improve his seasonal win total to 68. The Rockwood, Ont.-based trainer is seeking his third straight year with more than 100 wins and $2 million in earnings.
