A 12-race qualifying session went forward this morning at Mohawk Racetrack, with two-year-old and older performers both putting in miles over the seven-eighths mile
Campbellville oval.
The first race saw two-year-old Andover Hall filly Andorra Gold put in her first-ever charted mile, a gate-to-wire mile in 2:02.2 for trainer/driver Riina Rekila.
Andorra Gold is the second foal out of Olympics, who still holds the World Record for three-year-old trotting fillies over a half-mile track (1:54.3 at the Delaware County Fair in 2004).
Ten-year-old double-millionaire Artiscape gelding Escape The Wind was also in action this morning. The hard-knocking pacer also put in a gate-to-wire mile. He won by more than seven lengths in 1:54.2.
