Clinton Raceway’s track record for three-year-old pacing fillies was lowered on Sunday afternoon by Quiteasassybanana, who captured one of the day’s three Kin Pace eliminations in a time of 1:55.2.

With Bruce Richardson at the lines, Quiteasassybanana laid down panels of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:27 before sprinting home in :28.2 to post the three-length decision over Quality Goods. Third prize was earned by Coming Late.

Jim Ainsworth conditions the daughter of Grinfromeartoear – Nadine Seelster for owner/breeder Ross Holmes of Ilderton, ON. The victory was her fifth of the season in just eight tries. She has stashed away more than $65,000 to date.

It was the Sylvain Filion and Mark Steacy show in the other eliminations thanks to wins by Pretty Thing and Star Of Show.

Pretty Thing, a daughter of Astreos – Precious Delight, used off the pace tactics to produce a half-length victory in 1:57.2. Filion made a three-wide move at the three-quarter pole with his charge before finishing off the competition with a :28.1 final frame. Race favourite Stonebridge Breeze was second and third went to Ocean Of Motion.

The Steacy student, who was unraced as a rookie, now owns a 4-2-0 record in six start for owner Peter Heffering of Port Perry, ON.

Star Of Show, who was also bred by Tara Hills Stud Ltd., out-kicked rivals to take her elimination for the duo of trainer Steacy and driver Filion in a time of 1:57.2. She powered home in :29 seconds to win by just over two lengths. Race favourite Kesons Avaia was second and Poker Choice rounded out the top three.

Peter and David Heffering of Port Perry, ON share ownership on the homebred, who went 3-for-10 in her rookie season and has followed up with a 2-for-7 record this year. The win pushed her career earnings to $62,704.

Clinton Raceway will host the $64,000 final of the Kin Pace on Sunday, July 5.
