A set of $10,000 Kin Pace eliminations highlighted Sunday’s matinee program at Clinton Raceway, with Deliciouslynaughty and Lucky Jeans taking home top honours

in their respective assignments.

Deliciouslynaughty used a “catch me if you can” approach to win her elimination in 1:58 for the tandem of driver Scott Zeron and trainer Mark Etsell. The three-year-old Mach Three-Naught Enough Hare miss laid down sensible fractions of :29.4, 1:00.1 and 1:30.1 before roaring home in :27.4 to seal the deal by 3-1/4 lengths over Tymal Talea. Third prize went to Give The Gift.

Bred and owned by David Snowden of Bowmanville, ON, Deliciouslynaughty improved her 2010 record to 2-2-1 in five tries with the winning effort. The five-time winner has now banked in excess of $66,00.

Lucky Jeans took the second elimination in front-stepping fashion in a time of 1:58 for trainer Bob McIntosh. The three-year-old daughter of Camluck-Oliviajeankillean tore through fractions of :28.3, :59.3 and 1:29.3 before kicking home in :28.2 en route to defeating Twin B Sensual by three-quarters of a length. Holly Berry was third.

Doug McNair, who had six trips to victory lane over the course of the 12-race card, guided the homebred to the win for the partnership of the Robert McIntosh Stables Inc of Windsor and C S X Stables of Liberty Center, OH. The youngster, who is 2-for-4 this season, won for the fourth time in her career while pushing her overall earnings past $75,000.

A field of eight will line up behind the starting gate next Sunday afternoon to contest the $57,400 final of the Kin Pace. The card will also feature OSS Grassroots divisions for three-year-old filly trotters.
