After winning his two opening leg divisions, Whispers Art completed a series sweep in the $34,000 Oxford County Pacing Series final on Saturday afternoon

at Woodstock Racetrack.

The three-week late-closing series concluded with the top eight separately owned money earners advancing to the final.

With Jody Jamieson back in the bike for trainer Kevin O’Reilly, the three-year-old son of Modern Art – Imagined Whisper got away third from Post 1 as Premium Bliss powered off the gate from the next position over. After a :28-second first quarter, Whispers Art made the winning decision to move first-up. The fan favourite claimed the lead by the half in :57.3 and rolled past three-quarters in 1:27.3. A :30-second final frame was all he needed to seal the deal giving Jamieson one of four wins on the program. Whispers Art stopped the clock in 1:57.3 winning by two lengths over longshot Goingnowherefast (Brad Forward) and Montanez (Trevor Henry), who were also looking for a series sweep themselves.

Whispers Art, who is currently on a five-race win streak, improved his record to 6-1-1 in 10 starts with $36,888 earned for the Vintage Stable of Amherst, Ohio.

The Oxford Trotting Series is scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 11 and the Pacing Series for fillies and mares will start on Tuesday, July 14.
