Game Zac wired the top pacers at Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon to lower his season’s mark in the $1,100 Winners Over Pace
.
The six-year-old gelded son of Expensive Scooter-Game Xoxa overcame early interference caused by two breakers in the field and led the way past fractions of :29.4, :59.3 and 1:29.1 with Macnamarra (Doug MacQuarrie) looming on the outside. Game Zac held off that rival with a :28.4 final kicker for the 1:58 three-quarter length victory. Also bothered by the early breakers, pocket-sitter Aahm Cruisin (Gary Delaney) finished third.
Game Zac returned $12.30 to his backers as the 5-1 third choice. Alex MacNeil trains and drives the winner of two races in nine seasonal starts for owner Kevin Gillis of Windsor, Ont. His 15th victory lifetime lifted his bankroll to $64,637.
