Twelve distaffers have been entered to contest the first leg of the Atlantic Aged Mares Pacing Series, which will feature a pair of $3,378 divisions this Saturday (June 28) at Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway.
The pacers will contest a pair of six-horse divisions, which have been carded as Race 9 and Race 12 on the 12-dash docket. First-race post time for the card of racing is 6:30 p.m.
The Atlantic Aged Mares Pacing Series is sponsored by Standardbred Canada, Red Shores and other participating host tracks. To view the other host tracks for the five-leg series, and for complete details, click here.
Saturday’s first division will see the Allan Jones-trained and Brodie MacPhee-driven Ramblinglily look to start a new win streak for her owner, Normand Leger of Shediac, NB. The four-year-old daughter of Articulator saw her lengthy win streak stopped last week at Exhibition Park Raceway when she dead-heated for first, but was placed back to fourth. The career winner of 14 races and $76,000 in purses has drawn the outside Post 6 and has been named the 3-1 second choice on the morning line.
General Luckypercy has been installed at the 5-2 morning line choice in the second division off the strength of her two and a quarter-length victory last week in a Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park. The eight-year-old Blissfull Hall lass is trained by Jackie Matheson and will be driven by Gilles Barrieau. The career winner of 41 races and over $193,000 in purse earnings is owned by Jodi Lynn Matheson of Charlottetown, PEI and Jack Brown of Stratford, PEI.
