Inverness Raceway will treat its fans to a solid 14-race program this Sunday, with the opening leg of the $4,243 Erwin Andrew Memorial Series carded as the main event
. Seven pacers will line up behind the starting gate for the twelfth race feature, which sponsored by Meridian Farms, Standardbred Canada and the host tracks.
Abby Best is listed as the 5-2 morning line favourite. Lewis MacDonell will handle the lines on the eight-year-old daughter of Cambest for trainer Angus MacLean and owner Travis MacLean of Chelmsford, ON. The mare was a 1:58.3 in her most recent effort over the Inverness half-miler.
Boisdale Banshee, who will be making her third start of the campaign, is rated next at odds of 3-1 for the duo of trainer Joseph Janega and driver Redmond Doucet.
Alex MacQuarrie, who recently joined the 1,000-win club, will attempt to play spoiler with the Dave Pinkney-trained For The Luv Abunny. It will be the 2009 debut for the four-year-old daughter of Western Paradise, who went 6-for-20 in her sophomore season. She is listed at 5-1 in the morning line.
