Delaware-sired three-year-old fillies took centre stage on the Monday Harrington Raceway program with three $20,000 divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Stakes.
Owner The Wiz Kids Stable had a double in the stakes as Jonigold ($2.10, Corey Callahan) and Im Won Rum Wiser ($2.60, George Dennis) each prevailed in their respective divisions, both completing a sweep of their elimination legs.
Jonigold was sent immediately for the lead from post six and never relented in her open length 1:55 win over Miss Maja and Santa Baby. Trained by Bart Dalious, the Headmaster sired Jonigold notched her fifth career win.
Meanwhile Im Won Rum Wiser, co-owned by George and Tina Dennis with The Wiz Kids Stable, set all the fractions in her 1:55.4 triumph. The Headmaster filly notched her second straight win and eighth lifetime. Megginspin was second with Bettylou Who third.
The fastest split of the night was when Garnet O’Marrow’s Seboomook Fool Yah ($2.20, Allan Davis), wore down her rivals in 1:54.2. Sired by Gamblers Dream, Seboomook Fool Yah grinded away first over and edged clear of retreating pacesetter Fashion Guru to win by four lengths. Crushed Again was second while Treasure Valley found her best gear late to finish third.
Jerry Kovach’s Feel Like A Fool ($7.20, Callahan) prevailed in the $17,000 Open with a one-length win over Teresas Beach and People Are Crazy. Trained by Bobby Clark, it was the 21st career win for Feel Like A Fool. Heavily favoured Just A Jolt was trapped and impeded approaching three-quarters when Allstar Preview went off stride in front of him.
