Lady Latte did oodles of winning last season, but the 2011 season has been a much different story for the five-year-old daughter of No Pan Intended

The grey distaffer went into Friday’s $32,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred assignment with a 1-for-17 record, but more importantly she went home 2-for-18 after putting away eight foes in first-over fashion.
In rein to Jody Jamieson, Lady Latte got away fourth as the field chased Carolines Cullen N to the quarter pole in :27.2. She was still the leader at the mid-way point in :55.4, but Jamieson started up the engine on his charge and had her grinding away from first over as the field marched into the final turn. Carolines Cullen N and Lady Latte were engaged in battle at the three-quarter pole in 1:24.1 before that latter took over and took off. Lady Latte used a :27.1 final frame to win by 1-1/2 lengths in a career-best clocking of 1:51.3. Sweet Hedge rallied well to finish second, as did Go Get Her who finished third.
Jeff Gillis trains Lady Latte for owners Mhairi Kersel and Craig Turner of Ingersoll, ON. It was the 23rd lifetime tally for the career winner of $241,308.
The tandem of trainer Gillis and driver Jamieson, who lead their respective categories on the WEG circuit this season, joined forces for three wins on the card. In addition to Lady Latte they also joined forces to win with Smashbox (1:52.4) and Ladycino (1:53.2). Jamieson tacked on another catch-driving score with Scottish Queen (1:52.4) to bring nightly win total to four.
