Something Reel Upsets At Meadows

Something Reel followed live cover up the backside and raced gamely through the lane to pull off a 9-1 upset in Wednesday’s (June 23) feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 fillies and mares conditioned pace.

Once Something Reel shed her cover and grabbed the lead, she was under pressure inside and outside. But Brady Brown kept the five-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover and Im A Reelist to her task, and she prevailed in 1:52.2. Dorothys Legacy was second, a head back, with Royaltywestho third.

Brandon Presto trains Something Reel, who extended her career bankroll to $142,284, for Larry Parlin. It was one of four wins on the 13-race care for Brown.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (June 24), when the 13-race program features a $1,032.66 carryover in the Pick-5 (races 8-12). First post is 12:45 p.m.
