Two-year-olds participated in pari-mutuel races during the Tuesday, June 23 program at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
The Always B Miki--Jan It Jackson colt Billy Clyde, who is a half brother to Semi Tough, won his pari-mutuel debut in 1:55.4. Mark MacDonald moved the freshman to the lead in front of the grandstand, rated the pace to the three-quarters point in the race, and then rushed the colt home in :27.4. Billy Clyde is trained by Ray Schnittker, who also co-owns the youngster along with Dr. John Egloff.
Bossy Linda was the fastest of the two-year-old pacing fillies during the card. The daughter of Roll With Joe--Ideal Ginny went to the top and stayed in command with some Marcus Miller reminders in 1:56. Marcus’ father, trainer Erv Miller, is developing Bossy Linda nicely for owners D. R. Van Witzenburg and George Golemes.
