Driver Mike Merton had a profitable Monday at the office thanks to a five-win performance at Tioga Downs.
Merton rolled Keystone Steam to a gate-to-wire triumph in 1:52.4 in Race 3, and he returned to victory lane in Race 7 with Post Time Terror (1:55.1).
He came right back to the winner’s circle in Race 8 with Shecouldbegood N (1:53.1) and then again in Race 10 with Goldstar Rockette (1:54). Fittingly, he wrapped up the 12-race card winning the finale with Marvalous Jet (1:53.2).
Merton has racked up 30 wins so far this season and his UDR is well above the .400 mark. He’s banked more than $1 million in earnings for each of the last four seasons, and to date he’s racked up 3,685 wins and purse earnings in excess of $13 million.
