On the heels of a narrow defeat in last week’s $11,500 Open Pace at Century Downs, Who Doesnt returned to the oval and survived a tough trip to win this week’s edition in 1:55.2.
It was part of a three-win day for trainer/driver Travis Cullen, who also clicked with stable mates Runway Model (1:57.1) and Raging Fingers (1:54.1).
Cullen wasted no time in hustling Who Doesnt off the gate, and by the time he reached the quarter pole he was parked out by Sotally Tober in :27.1. They continued to wage war through middle splits of :57 and 1:25.1 before Who Doesn’t dug down deep and posted the half-length decision over Sotally Tober in 1:55.2. Taking home third prize was Blue Eyed Cowboy.
Sent off as the 3-5 favourite in the six-horse affair, the six-year-old son of Mach Three-Labor Of Love improved his 2015 record to 5-2-0 from 7 starts with the win. He’s stashed away $32,000 in earnings this season and more than $203,000 to date. Cullen shares ownership on the productive pacer with Jeanne Cullen, Kenneth Cullen and Jodie Cullen.
