An impressive performance was turned in at Western Fair Raceway on Monday afternoon by Lily Ellie
, who stamped herself as the nation’s fastest freshman filly of 2009 on a half-mile track.
Lily Ellie, a daughter of Rambaran – Traditional Gold, front-stepped her way to an eye-catching clocking of 2:01 for the father/son duo of driver Dave Wall and trainer Dean Wall.
Mr. OSS hustled the filly to the lead from post four and she successfully chopped out splits of :30, 1:02.1 and 1:32.3 before sprinting home in :28.2 to post the winning effort. J M Lasstax (Camluck – Tipn Tax) was second and third prize went to Hanna Montana (Astreos – Viking Song).
Wall Tyme Stables Inc. of Komoka, ON shares ownership on the filly with her breeder, Michael Guest of Boca Raton, FL. Lily Ellie is a half-sister to Mister Glitz (1:51.3 - $130,814).
