Strobe Lite scored his first Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Gold win of the year as he out-finished first-leg winner Touchedbyanangel in the lone second-round event for three-year-old male trotters on Sunday, June 21 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The 2025 OSS Super Final champion floated out from post seven and rolled by early leader Dream For Peace (Mark MacDonald) at the quarter in :28.1. Touchedbyanangel (Doug McNair) was swiftly out from third behind that rival and brushed to the top nearing the half in :57. James MacDonald produced Strobe Lite as they swung towards three-quarters in 1:25.3, and the gelding went to war with Touchedbyanangel down the lane as those two sprung free of the rest. Touchedbyanangel grew weary in mid-stretch, and Strobe Lite glided clear to take the $140,000 dash by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:52.2. Touchedbyanangel cruised home second, followed by a gaining Dream For Peace.

Strobe Lite has hit the board in all six starts at three with wins in the SBOA Stakes and Sunday’s Gold in addition to a show finish in the Goodtimes and a second in the first round of the provincial series. The son of Alarm Detector-Shine Bright won his OSS Super Final last season and earned O’Brien Award honours in the Two-Year-Old Pacing Colt category. The Ben Baillargeon trainee is now five-for-17 lifetime with $586,328 in earnings for owners Baillargeon of Guelph, Ont., Claude Hamel of Orford, Que., Nunzio Vena of Bolton, Ont. and Glengate Farms of Erin, Ont. He paid $3.50 to win.
