The Atlantic Sires Stakes makes its first stop of the season at Northside Downs on Saturday, June 22 as three-year-old pacing colts head postward in their first test of the year.
Two $12,240 A divisions are carded, with those splits set as the seventh and ninth dashes of the day.
Jackies Boy (pictured above) will try to protect his win streak from the rail in line to Myles Heffernan in the first A division. The colt has been perfect his first two starts of the season. Giving chase will be last year's two-year-old Atlantic Breeders Champion Tobins Chester (Marc Campbell) and local entry Southfield Patrick (Kevin Bailey).
Merigo Magic (Adam Merner) has won his first four starts of 2024 and will look to make it five straight in the second split. Pauls Crown (Marc Campbell) and Check Your Chip ( Myles Heffernan) round out the top three contenders.
Two $6,000 B divisions are slated as Races 3 and 5,
Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division and trot events go towards securing a coveted spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships.
