On Monday, June 20, a New Jersey Senate Committee passed four bills in regard to the state horse racing industry

.

According to a report by The Star-Ledger, Bill S2640 will allow the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority to run the Meadowlands Racetrack and Monmouth Park jointly with soon-to-be operators Jeff Gural (Meadowlands) and Morris Bailey (Monmouth). The joint-operation is needed because Gural and Morris have yet to be licensed. The bill would also reduce the number of race days at Monmouth Park to a minimum of 71.

Bill S2819 will remove a limit on how much Atlantic City casinos can pay to out-of-state racetracks for simulcast signals and increases the amount of revenue from those races the casinos can keep.

Bill A3710 and Bill A3580 were also passed.
