Caskey Wins Goshen Scholarship Race

Grace Caskey teamed up with leading driver Jordan Stratton to win the second annual Goshen Historic Track High School Scholarship Race during yesterday's matinee card.

The duo, which collectively had won their elimination race two weeks prior, was paired up again in their two-seated jog cart to capture the final in 2:03.1.

Having left from Post 6, and with a tremendous amount of ground to cover, Grace Caskey pulled at the half and was out and rolling. Still parked going past the three-quarters of a mile pole, she urged her charge three-wide around the final turn and won by a half length over Kelly Parness of Monroe-Woodbury.

Claudia Anzini of Middletown held on for third in what was one of the most exciting races of the day. The event has raised over $35,000 for area school districts and the student drivers, who each earned a $1,000 scholarship.
