Making her debut for new connections in the $1,600 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Miami Fair in Manitoba, Such A Big Flirt didn’t disappoint

.

With trainer and part-owner Dallas Magee in the bike, Such A Big Flirt grabbed the lead from post position #1 and battled with Bubbles Promise (Darryl Mason) on the front before kicking away in the stretch to score by 2-3/4 lengths in 2:07. Pocket-sitter Starshine Jet (Ron Cullen), the odds-on favourite, and Bubbles Promise finished second in a dead-heat.

Such A Big Flirt, a six-year-old daughter of The Big Dog-Flirtntell owned by Magee, Verne Rea of Calgary, AB and Lottie McGee of Deloraine, MB, paid $13.30 to win as the 5-1 fourth choice. Her 10th lifetime pushed her earnings to $37,562.

Magee and his partners also clicked with Truckin Jones, a seven-year-son of Jennas Beach-Janets Jewel, who won his season’s debut, a $3,500 claiming event, in 2:07.3 despite enduring broken equipment.
