Trainer/driver Gerry Hudon enjoyed a fabulous Friday night at Grande Prairie as he recorded three wins on the 11-race program.

Hudon doubled up in Races 6 and 7 when he guided the As Promised sophomore filly Nazko Finally to her first win of the season in as many starts. Last year’s Debutante winner scored in wire-to-wire fashion stopping the clock in 2:00.1. Hudon’s three-year-old Artiscape colt Artis Gilwar then won the following race in 2:03.2.

Hudon also guided Red Star Wild West, a five-year-old Village Jiffy gelding, to victory in the ninth dash in 1:58.3.

The resident of Edmonton, Alta. bumped his yearly win total to 33 with his training triple. Hudon now sports a record that includes 1,559 wins and over $9.9 million in purse earnings.
