Allamerican Celeb began and overland journey from sixth in the early going that carried her to a 1:52.2 triumph in Friday’s night’s $9,000 Open feature for female pacers at Vernon Downs

.

Leaving from Post 5 in Friday’s sixth race, Allamerican Celeb found herself in last place at the half way mark, timed in :56 seconds. With Fern Paquet, Jr. catch-driving for trainer Jamie Paquet, the four-year-old daughter of Pro Bono Best-CDs Girl moved three-wide around the final turn until she cleared to the lead entering the homestretch, and then drew off to defeat Bet The Ranch by 3-1/2 lengths. As the crowd wagering choice, she paid $4.50 for finishing first.

In posting her third win in succession, Allamerican Celeb tied fellow side-wheeler Prettyasapageant and the trotters Crown Rules, Sharpshootennorris and Hanger Pride N at three for most consecutive scores at the meet. It was the fourth local tally and fifth season’s score for the career-winner of $89,310, who is owned by the In Front Racing group.

Jimmy Whittemore, the track’s second-leading dash-winner after 26 programs, recorded his second hat trick at the meet, while Paquet, Jr., Ken Holliday and Chris Lems each posted driving doubles during Friday’s 10-race program.
