Sent off as the second choice in the $8,000 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association (GLADA) Trot on Sunday night (June 19) at Northfield Park, Eddie Miller and Cowboy Country delivered a 1:57.2 victory.

Eddie Miller sent Cowboy Country for the lead and they gained command after a :28.1 first quarter. Once on top, they had to contend with Hititoutofthepark, who moved first up, and the two raced side by side past the half in :58 seconds. They were still side by side when they headed for the three-quarters, but at that point Hititoutofthepark was tiring and that made room for the 3-5 favourite, Next Woman Up. However, they had to reel in Cowboy Country, and they tried but to no avail.

When they headed for home, Miller's charge was still strong. And although Harmon's trotter took its best shot, the leader didn't yield. At the wire, Cowboy Country hung tough and zipped home a length winner. Next Woman Up was second and five lengths behind the winner in third place was Fultons Fury.

Cowboy Country is owned by Rebecca Sugg and Steven Maas and is trained by his Eddie Miller. He paid $5 to win.
