The punters clearly got it right on Saturday at Hiawatha Horse Park in races where Marc St. Louis Jr. was driving the betting favourite.
On the 11-dash card, St. Louis was sent off on the public choice five times and he delivered on each of those occasions. His day started off on the right foot with a win aboard the unbeaten four-year-old Kissinbythebeaches ($3.40). Unraced at both two and three, the gelded son of Sunshine Beach - Stealin The Kisses went gate-to-wire for the second straight week and scored in 1:57.3 for trainer Mark Goddard and owner Brandon Guerra of Brantford, Ont.
St. Louis notched a natural hat-trick over the middle section of the card, winning races five through seven with Dinner At The Met (1:56.2; $3.20), Lady Caterina (1:59.2; $2,20) and Seymour Little (1:56.4; $2.80) respectively. He then closed the card how he started it: with a win for trainer Mark Goddard, this time teaming with trotting mare Soprese ($2.70) in 1:58.1 for another repeat victory.
The five-bagger puts St. Louis' lifetime win tally at 2,120 victories with earnings approaching the $7.9 million mark.
