On Monday (June 18) at Grand River Raceway, Majestic Mystic ($9.10) and reinsman Fred Bourgault posted a five and a quarter-length victory in 2:00.4 during CKG Billings Amateur Driving Series action despite broken equipment.
Sent postward as the wagering public’s second choice, Bourgault was content to find a spot in fourth along the pylons once the wings of the starting gate folded.
When the pace of the race slowed as the field headed to the halfway point, Bougault was out and racing. Majestic Mystic was on top by a head at the third call, and when the field straightened for paydirt, Majestic Mystic began to ease away.
Overcomebyvictory (driven by Isaac Waxman) finished second and Extrapolate (Shane Arsenault) was third under the wire.
