Cool Cowboy made it back-to-back wins in the $10,000 Open Pace at Century Downs thanks to his Monday score in the main event.

Michael Hennessy put the pedal to the metal early with Cool Cowboy, who stepped to the lead from Post 6 and successfully carved out splits of :27.2, :57 and 1:24.3 before kicking home in :28 to win by a length over race favourite – and stablemate – Iwontdothatagain in 1:52.3. Third prize went to Da Magician.

Trainer Kelly Hoerdt co-owns the five-year-old son of Brandons Cowboy-Cool Grin with Blair Corbeil, Witsend Consulting Inc. With the win the speedster improved this year’s record to 3-2-2 from eight trips postward. The 16-time winner has stashed away close to $240,000 in lifetime earnings.
