All eyes were on Confession Session in Tuesday’s $14,900 Sharpes Series for female trotters at Georgian Downs, and the 1-9 favourite didn’t disappoint her backers.

The three-year-old daughter of Father Patrick-Crazed For Lindy used a come-from-behind approach to win the final in 1:57.2 for the duo of driver Scott Coulter and trainer John Bax.

Coulter got away sixth with Confession Session while the early lead belonged to stablemate Peace Rose. She had the field chasing her through first-half fractions of :28.2 and :57.1. Magically Hip made a first over bid in the backstretch, and she took over at the three-quarter pole in 1:27.1 when Peace Rose made a break.

Confession Session made a three-wide move at that point while sitting fourth on the outside, and from there she used a :29.4 closing quarter to secure the lead and draw clear to win by 2-3/4 lengths over Mattys Smilin. Pyrrha was third.

Bax Stable and Glengate Farms own the sophomore who won for the third time this season from seven opportunities. The complete sweep of the preliminary legs and the final helped boost her bankroll to $38,627.

The betting public didn’t give Katch Kanna much of a chance to win Tuesday’s $11,500 Preferred 2 Handicap for trotters at Georgian Downs, and the gelding apparently took offense to the pari-mutuel snub.

Katch Kanna rallied for the win in 1:54.4, and in doing so he lit up the toteboard to the tune of 18-1.

Tyler Moore got away third with Katch Kanna in the six-horse affair while Willyorwonthe rolled to the lead and chopped out fractions of :27.3, :57.1 and 1:25.4. Katch Kanna made a first-over bid going to the three-quarter pole, and from there he used a :28.4 closing panel to win by three-quarters of a length over Fly Beyond. Taking home third prize was Absolut Seelster.

Jacques Dupont trains the six-year-old son of Lucky Chucky-Oleodre for Les Ecuries Dorleans Inc of Repentigny, QC. It was the fourth victory of the season for the 17-time winner who is closing in on $140,000 in career earnings.
