Tajmeallover went three-wide down the backstretch to take the lead in the featured $10,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace and then drew away from her competition in a 1:54.1 career-best performance on Saturday afternoon (June 18) at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino.
Tajmeallover followed in fourth-place early on through first-half fractions of :29 and :58.2 before making her sweeping move around first over Phone Terror and overtaking slight 8-5 favourite Sing Like An Angel on top. The Marjorie Dumont trainee then raced past three-quarters in 1:25.2 and opened up six lengths on the lead before cruising home for the victory. Her final win margin was three lengths as American Passion came on for second off a pocket trip. Sing Like An Angel finished third.
Tajmeallover paid $5.40 to win as the second favourite. Driver J.F. Gagne shares ownership of the homebred Tajma Hall-Watch Over Me mare with Peter Van Seggelen, Carl Warnaar and Tapron Holdings Ltd.
Tajmeallover has now won three of her last four starts against the top distaffers at Century Downs to boost her seasonal earnings to $34,550. The five-year-old mare sports a career summary of 19-8-6 from 37 starts and a lifetime bankroll of $129,631.
