Lislea Moran was a repeat winner and Victory Is Coming was a parked-out winner in Monday’s $6,000 Open events at Northfield Park.

Thomas O’Donnell’s Lislea Moran, who started from Post 3, laid down fractions of :27.4, :56.2 and 1:25 for driver Ryan Stahl before using a :28-second closing panel to win in 1:53. It was 2-1/4 lengths back to runner-up Lite Me Up, with Winbak Dimensions finishing third.

Andy Rickert trains the seven-year-old son of Lislea-Letoile, who is now a 27-time winner. The lion’s share of Monday’s purse boosted his bankroll to $256,747. He paid $5.60 to win.

Victory Is Coming took the $6,000 Open Trot for owners Betty and John Red Shaw of Mount Vernon, Ohio. Ammon Hershberger trains and drove the mare. Victory Is Coming, a daughter of Victory Sam-Norse Comer, started from Post 7 and was parked the entire mile and still managed to out-trot her competition by a head. She stopped the clock at 1:56.3. Rehab Mountain was second, with third prize going to Normas Rose.

Six-year-old Victory Is Coming now has 31 career wins and earnings of $365,283. Sent off as the favourite, she paid $4.20 to win.
