Ladies' Night In Buffalo

The New York Sire Stakes action at Buffalo Raceway will continue Saturday night with Ladies' Night, as the three-year-old trotting fillies will compete in six divisions during the 15-race card. In total, over $200,000 in stakes and overnight purses will be distributed during the card.

The first NYSS division will kick off the card at 6:40 p.m. Madam Hooch, trained by Fred Grant, has drawn the three-hole and will face some stiff competition from Wolfs Jann, Comical Dream, and She’s So Chic.

The second division of Sire Stakes completes the early double, as another seven horses will compete for the $26,167 purse. Dontwanttobeblue, who won her division last week at Monticello Raceway, will look to leave early starting from the fifth position. Somersault, with driver Phil Fluet, will start just inside. The top money earner of the race, Show Your Lindys with $124,901 in lifetime earnings, has drawn the rail. Local trainer Allan McCarty’s Belle of the Brawl, who did not race last year, will also look to play a factor.

Last Vacation, who broke her maiden last week at Buffalo, will look for her first NYSS victory for trainer Bob Johnson in the third division, Race 4. Also in the division is Platinumatic --who is owned by Purple Haze Stables and who also broke her maiden recently at Vernon Downs -- and Sheezacredit.

The highlight of the night is Race 5, as freshmen champ and Buffalo track record holder Munis Blue Chip and Tuesdays With Mom have drawn into the same division. Both have over $200,000 in lifetime earnings and come in after winning last week’s divisions. Also in the division is Secret Credit, who also won her division last week.

In the seventh race, Radiant One, coming off a third place finish at Monticello last week, will battle fellow Credit Winner offspring Free Wheeling and Ave De Vie.

In the final division, Race 8, Little Spot trained by Linda Toscano, will battle against five others, including Miss Conway (to be driven by Dan Daley), Pure Platinum (John Stark, Jr.) and Chieftess (DR Ackerman)
