After rewriting the trotting record book, Flemsteen will look to keep his momentum rolling on Thursday, June 18 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 13-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT), with the $5,000 Open Trot lining up in race 10.
Flemsteen has post two in the top trot of the night with Ken Murphy in the bike for trainer Jennifer Doyle. The eight-year-old son of Explosive Matter-Lost Symbol was red hot in his lone Prince Edward Island start with a 1:54.2 Atlantic Canada and track record victory on June 11 for owners Max Webster Stable of Inverness, N.S., Jeff Skinner of Hammonds Plains, N.S., Derrill Murphy of Lethbridge, Alta., and Clair Murphy of Millvale, P.E.I.
Fight Song will leave from post four with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Ashley Gamester while Buckhead Ridge has post five with Marc Campbell in the bike for his son, trainer Landon Campbell. West River Jet has post three with Clare MacDonald handling the lines while New Legacy gets rail control with Gilles Barrieau driving for trainer Jennifer Doyle.
The All Star Cresting Trot Series for three-year-old trotters has a pair of $5,750 divisions on the program.
The race two division has Big Rig installed as the top choice from post four with Michael McGuigan driving and training. Among the contenders, Miss Gracie Ridge has post two with Adam Merner in the seat while West River Karuna gets the rail with Ken MacDonald driving for trainer Clare MacDonald.
The second All Star Cresting Trot Series division is in race four with Hallysgurl favoured from post five and Barrieau driving for trainer Darryl MacLean. Other top contenders include Call Of Honor, who has rail control with Ken Murphy in the bike for trainer Doyle while Hoponaroocket has post four with McGuigan driving and training.
The Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace carries a $6,000 purse in race 12 with Windemere Saddy the morning line favourite from the outside post five. Ken Murphy drives the daughter of Malicious for trainer Saul Lanigan.
Rosetown Mary has post two with trainer/driver Corey MacPherson at the controls while Lady Devine drew the rail with Hughes driving for trainer Doyle. Sweet Molly has post four with Barrieau listed to drive for the Doyle barn.
The "Post Time Picks" has selected post three starter Sugar Bowl in the pacing feature with Marc Campbell driving for trainer David O’Brien.
“Sugar Bowl has been driven conservatively in her first three starts of the season and came away with a win from a pocket trip in her latest. She closed in :27.4 in that victory, which tells me she's in top form coming into this race, so I'm betting she goes back-to-back from this inside post.”
