It was a profitable day at the office for trainer John MacMillan, as his barn produced three winners on Thursday’s 10-race card at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
MacMillan, who only sent out four starters on the card, watched Bettimontheriver finish fifth in Race 3 before reeling off three consecutive scores.
The first to triumph was Shallow (1:56.2) in Race 6 followed by trips to victory lane with Sir Galahad (1:54.4) in Race 8 and Three Trick Gainer (1:56.2) in Race 10.
MacMillan, a career winner of 1,633 races and purses in excess of $9.2 million, owns a 2021 record of 8-9-4 from 50 starters.
Honourable mention on the program goes out to driver Ryan Guy, who enjoyed a four-win performance. In fact, he celebrated a Natural Grand Slam thanks to wins in Races 2 thru 5 with Barrys Shelby (1:57.1), Village Jamie (1:56), Stormont Muffin (1:59) and Reys N A Rocket (1:55.1).
