The annual general meeting of the Prince Edward Island Standardbred Horse Owners Association (PEISHOA) was recently held at Red Shores Charlottetown.

A large number of members were in attendance as events from the past year were reviewed.

Several new members were elected to the board of directors for a two-year term. They are Eddie Doucette of Kensington, Larry Chappell of Marshfield, Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge, Brian Ladner and Thane Arsenault, both of Charlottetown. The PEISHOA looks forward to working with the new directors in the future, as they each represent different aspects of the harness racing industry.

The association will miss several members who will not be returning for another term: Betty Gregan, Tom Clark, Fred Paynter, Eldred Nicholson and Alison Ramsay. Their contribution to the industry will not go unrecognized. As a volunteer organization, it is individuals such as these, who have been willing to donate their time, energy and ideas that have allowed the PEISHOA to operate so successfully for so many years. The association sincerely thanks them for this.
