Revenue Agent extended his win streak to four after he front-stepped his way to the winner’s circle in a lifetime-best effort in the co-featured $24,000 Open Trot at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Saturday.

With an abbreviated field of six, Pete Wrenn sent the Jeff Miller-trained gelding to the front from the assigned post six. Revenue Agent remained unchallenged through first half fractions of :27 and :56.4. Joe Putnam and the public’s choice, Abc Mercedes, were well placed in the pocket seat second. Ed Hensley gave Allthatnabagofchip the green light as they were the first to reach the leader’s wheel first over at the three-quarter mark in 1:25.2. Wrenn asked the four-year-old gelding for more as the field turned for home and he responded, as he marched home to win convincingly in 1:54.1 over Abc Mercedes. Allthatnabagofchip dug in gamely to round out the trifecta.

“This horse is just now coming into himself,” Wrenn said of his mount. “Abc Mercedes gets a lot of well deserved respect around here, but my horse is a youngster and seems to be just now figuring it all out. He’s a very handy horse so I knew he would be a contender tonight. He’s raced really tough these last few weeks against some very classy horses. Hopefully he can continue to keep racing the way he did tonight and he’ll be very competitive in this class every week.”

Revenue Agent has now won five of 10 outings this season while earning over $80,000 for owners Michael Creps and R. Kevin Greenfield. The homebred son of Revenue S has bankrolled over $140,000 in three seasons of racing for his connections.

On the pacing side, Freddyscooter scored in the $24,000 Open Pace to record the fastest mile over Hoosier Park’s 5/8 mile oval this meet. Stopping the clock in 1:50.2, it was his third win in eight outings this year for trainer Steve Brannan.

Driver Trace Tetrick and the son of I Scoot Hanover sat behind fractions of :27.2 cut by Ideal Choice, and :55.3 and 1:23.3, put up by I Trust You and Ricky Macomber Jr.Tetrick was the first to commit as he had Freddyscooter positioned in the outer flow first up with last week’s winner, Paco Labrook, in tow. With a :26.4 closing panel, Freddyscooter was able to wear down the leader to reach the wire first by a neck over a game I Trust You. Paco Labrook finished third.

Freddyscooter paid $4.40 to win as the bettors’ choice. The 33-time career winner has bankrolled over $680,000 racing primarily in Indiana for owners Frederick Shiery and Steve Brannan, who also bred the gelding.
