Richard Lombardo and David Kryway's Also Encouraging was a well-backed winner in her 1:53.4 score in the $16,000 Mares Open Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.
It was the second straight night a Josh Green-trained entrant took an Open-level event, after EZ Noah prevailed for a third straight week on Monday.
Also Encouraging, a four-year-old Western Terror mare, registered her fourth win in six starts this season. Also Encouraging, in rein to Allan Davis, followed Star Keeper and Embassy Seelster into the race into the live outer flow after Senorita Santanna cruised through the fractions while receiving heavy pressure to three quarters. Embassy Seelster wore down the leader before Also Encouraging gathered momentum late to prevail. Star Keeper finished third.
It was one of four wins for Davis on the program. Tony Morgan drove three winners, while George Dennis had a driving double.
