Romo Approaches Maritime History

Maritime veteran Danny Romo's next win will place him in an elite group of just three drivers, and according to the Nova Scotia native he's not planning on stopping anytime soon.

Romo, 59, sits at 3,499 wins lifetime heading into this weekend's harness racing action. With drives both on Saturday at Charlottetown and Sunday at his home track or Truro, Romo is set to join the likes of Steve Mahar and Gilles Barrieau as drivers with more than 3,500 wins campaigning in the Maritimes.

“I had a back operation in December and I feel better this year than I did the last four or five,” Romo told the Chronicle-Herald. "So I’d say as long as I stay healthy, I’ll go for another five or seven years, seven or eight years.”

Romo heads to Red Shores at Charlottetown with five chances for glory on Saturday night, followed by eight drives at Truro on Sunday. For entries, click the following links:
