Hidden Potential Delivers In Preferred

Hidden Potential lived up to expectations on Friday night (June 15) at Grand River Raceway, winning the featured $8,500 Preferred 3 Pace as the 4-5 favourite with Scott Coulter aboard.

With the inner advantage among the early leavers from post two, Our Major Sky N (Colin Kelly) secured the lead ahead of trailing tier starter Littlebitaswagger (J Harris) with Buckeroo (Ryan Holliday), from post three, tucking into third early on during a :27.4 opening quarter.

As Our Major Sky N led the field past the midway mark in :56.3, 4-5 favourite Hidden Potential was began to move from fourth. The John Pentland trainee advanced up to take second-place by the 1:25.3 third quarter mark and charged ahead down the lane to score the victory in 1:54.4 by three-quarters of a length over Littlebitaswagger, who closed through the inside lane to pass Our Sky Major N.

Hidden Potential, who was just a head short in a matching Preferred 3 mile last week at Grand River, paid $3.70 to win Friday's featured finale. Owned and bred by V M B Stable, the nine-year-old Lis Mara-Shes A Looker gelding earned his third victory this year and 26th lifetime boosting his bankroll to $236,906.
