Tijuana Seelster and Colin Kelly rode the pocket trip to victory in the feature $8,800 feature condition class at Grand River Raceway on Wednesday (June 14) evening.
Halo Its Heaven (Brett MacDonald) controlled the tempo through panels in :27.3, :57.3, and 1:27.2 as Tijuana Seelster followed in the pocket. Down the stretch, the Jacob Roberts trainee tipped out in a battle for the win. As it came down to the wire, Tijuana Seelster won by three-quarters of a length in 1:57.4. Halo Its Heaven was second and Bulldog (Bruce Richardson) finished third.
Tijuana Seelster is a four-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass owned by Triple S Equine for her eighth career win, her sixth win this season in 17 starts. She has $62,469 in career earnings.
