Off a victory in the Graduate preliminary at Woodbine Mohawk Park on June 3, Rob Fellows trainee Logan Park returned to the track on Tuesday (June 14) to torch the oval in his qualifying event.
Driver Sylvain Filion swiftly landed the lead with the four-year-old Archangel gelding to open six lengths on Lexus Kody to a :29 first quarter. He gradually expanded his lead through a :57.4 half and three-quarters in 1:25.3 to win his mile going away by 16 lengths while stopping the clock in 1:53.1; he trotted his back half in :55.2 and his final quarter in :27.3. Lexus Kody settled for second with Southwind Cersei third another 14 lengths behind. Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs and Arpad Szabo own Logan Park, who has already banked $540,472 from 29 starts in his career.
