Perfect Vacation marched to the top and didn’t look back en route to his winning effort. The seven-year-old son of Dream Vacation knifed out panels of :28.2, :58 and 1:26.2 for driver John MacDonald before taking on a :29.1 final quarter to post the 1:55.3 decision. Star Ruffnready was next best and third prize went to Darkon Lavec.

Priceless Edition survived a first-over journey to win the $14,000 Preferred Pace for the duo of driver Gord Brown and trainer Mark Steacy. The six-year-old son of Real Desire, who refused to lose in the nine-horse affair, summoned up a :28.2 closing panel to prevail by three-quarters of a length over P H Bestman in 1:52.2. Aint No Hearsay, who was sent off as the favourite, was third.
