It was a make-up day of racing on Sunday afternoon at the Yorkton Exhibition, with seven races on the card

. At the end of the day driver Glenn LeDrew was all smiles having guided three horses to the winner's circle.

The first win came in the second race as LeDrew piloted Get Out Of Town to a 2:07.4 score. The pacer is trained by Shawn Worthen and owned by Jane Grainger and Carole Dunbar.

“She had the good trip,” said LeDrew. “We swung around four wide on the last turn, and she did the rest.”

LeDrew also guided Manstorm to victory in the fourth race, and his 2:02.4 clocking was the quickest of the afternoon. Owned by Terry Kaufman of Aldergrove, BC and trained by Shawn Worthen, Manstorm defeated KG DNA and Kneehill Harry.

“I got the right trip with him,” said LeDrew, who said he saw the leaders were pacing a fast early race, and his horse was staying with the field. “I just had to take him outside when I had the chance.”

LeDrew said Manstorm “is a nice kind of horse,” which had been pacing some 1:58 miles in BC. “Even an average horse out there is a pretty good horse here.”
LeDrew said it helps that Worthen had the horses set up well for the races in both wins.

In the sixth race LeDrew was back with Standing Bear for owner/trainer Bob Ross of Virden, MB. It was another multi-length victory for LeDrew as Standing Bear pulled away at the three-quarter pole to easily defeat Power Maid and Rays Folly. Standing Bear paced the mile in 2:03.

“They had lots of pace up front; I knew there was going to be big speed up front,” said LeDrew. “It was just getting out and around traffic. The race really kind of set up for him. Bob [owner/trainer Bob Ross] did a nice job with him.”

LeDrew, who is also president of the Saskatchewan Standardbred Horsemen's Association said racing over the first four days at Yorkton has been tough.

“Since the start of the meet the races have been very tight. Lots of races there have been three or four horses right there at the finish,” he said.
